A free sample is a product or goods given to a particular person so that he or she gets to know about it. Many companies provide sample these days to motivate their customers to buy their goods. Some provides to promote their goods and to help customer learn about the products and their benefits. So, providing free sample of a product helps the company to gather data and feedback of their product.
For example, a software company manufactures new software. So they launch a trial version of same software as their sample product into the market via Internet. Now, when people show positive response or feedback they launch their full version software. But, if they get negative feedback about the product, then they will improve or find a solution to make it better.
